FAQs
Some commonly-asked questions about working with me
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Marilyn Wilkinson, a freelance B2B content writer and content marketing strategist. I help tech and SaaS companies drive traffic, build trust, and generate pipeline with high-quality content like blog articles, white papers, and more.
What's your background?
I’ve spent over 10 years in the B2B tech space, writing for brands like IBM, Nespresso, Semrush, and Canva, as well as fast-growing startups. My work blends editorial quality with strategic insight to help you rank on Google, speak to decision-makers, and drive business results.
Do I really need a content writer?
You could write it yourself (or ask ChatGPT), but would it resonate, rank, and convert? Excellent writing often makes the difference between impactful marketing and wasted budget. If you’re short on time or want better results, that’s where I come in.
What industries do you write about?
I’m 100% focused on B2B technology, so clients benefit from my deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Blockchain, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Data Management, IoT, eCommerce, MarTech, and SaaS. No topic is too technical.
Do you offer retainers or one-off projects?
Both! Some clients book a monthly content package, while others bring me in for ad hoc blog posts, standalone whitepapers, or web copy. We’ll figure out what works best based on your goals.
How long does content take?
It depends on the complexity and scope. Most blog posts take about 1 week, while whitepapers or reports may take 2-3 weeks, including interviews and feedback loops. I’ll always give you a clear timeline upfront.
What are your rates, and what's included?
I offer all-inclusive project rates that include research, writing, revisions, and SEO optimization where relevant. Typically, a 1000-word blog post costs $500, and a 3,000-word whitepaper costs $1,500. I also offer monthly retainers and strategy packages. Please get in touch for a custom quote.
How can we work together?
The first step is to get in touch via my online contact form to book a free consultation. You’ll then receive a proposal from me outlining the project scope, deliverables, deadlines and invoicing process. Once you approve it, we’re good to go!
